Americans Making Cuts in Personal Spending According to a recent Harris Interactive Poll® of 2,066 adults surveyed online between July 15-17, 2009, four in five Americans (79%) say they have made cuts over the past year in their personal spending due to the economy. One-third (32%) have made major cuts, while almost half (47%) have made only some. Just one in five Americans (21%) have not made any cuts in their personal spending. [Harris Poll]
Nebraska Abortionist Vows to Train Others Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart wants to educate as many doctors as he can to perform late-term abortions so the process doesn't die with him. "Abortion is not a four-letter word," he said. "I'm proud of what I do." According to Carrie Gordon Earll, senior bioethics analyst for Focus on the Family Action, "Many obstetrics and gynecology residency programs offer abortion training, yet the number of physicians willing to do abortions doesn't seem to be on the increase." Carhart was not granted hospital privileges in Wichita, Kansas, according to Operation Rescue's Troy Newman. Having hospital privileges is essential because late-term abortions too often cause complications, some of which require hospitalization. [CitizenLink.com, OneNewsNow.com]
